Class of 2020 guard Xavier DuSell put together a strong performance on Day 1 of the Adidas Gauntlet Regionals. He led Team Harden to a convincing victory over Team UNeek and showed he and his team are a team to watch this season. DuSell showed see a lot more attention come his way the next couple of months.
Q: What’s it like starting off the AAU season on this note?
A: “I’m just excited to get out here with my team because I’ve been looking forward to this AAU season. I think I have a bright future, I think we’ll have a lot of fun and we are going to be a hard team to beat.”
Q: You are still relatively unknown on the national scale. What are people going to learn about you this AAU season?
A: “That I can definitely put the ball in the basket and I’m a pure scorer. I also get my teammates better and I always make sure my teammates are playing to the best of their ability. Whether that’s creating for them, getting them open shots and stuff like that. I try to do everything.”
Q: Why are you guys a team to look out for in the Gauntlet this year?
A: “Once we fire on all cylinders, I think we will be tough to beat because we all do a little bit of everything. We do things in different areas that a team needs to win games. I think we are a tough team to beat and I look forward to what’s in store for us.”
Q: How would you describe yourself as a player?
A: “I’m a combo guard because I can run the one, two or even the three. I would just say I’m pretty all around on the offensive end.”
Q: What offers and interest do you have?
A: “My offers are Northern Arizona, Idaho State, and Montana. I have interest from Arizona State, Stanford, USC, UCLA and some more.”
