D1 Minnesota comes in ranked first our Adidas Gauntlet rankings, which comes with little surprise as they have dominated so far this season. To give some context to this, they have beaten their opponents by ten points or more in seven out of their eight games. They are loaded with talent with prospects like Dawson Garcia, Kerwin Walton Jr., Steven Crowl, and Kendall Brown. They played like a well-oiled machine and are currently the favorite to win it all this season.
Everyone knew Dream Vision had one of the most talented teams this season and it’s safe to say they have lived up to it. Makur Maker already had a big name prior to this season but has boosted his stock even more. Makur is averaging 17.4 points per game on 81 percent from the field. Five-Star Kyree Walker has also had an impressive season as he is averaging 15.1 points and 4 assists per game. This is far from a two-man show as Dream Vision has top-notch prospects like Dominick Harris and Isaiah Cottrell. Dream Vision has started off hot and doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
YGC 36 from Texas is the third team in the Gauntlet to be undefeated through the first two sessions of play. Their well-balanced attack has given teams fits on the circuit. Latrell Jossell, Harrison Ingram, Andrew Laczkowski, Marcus Ervin and more have been great for YGC thus far. They have surprised a lot of people so far, but will now have a target on their backs now being ranked third in the league.
Compton Magic is recognized as one of, if not the best, AAU programs throughout the country. They have such a high expectation for their teams that it’s possible that they aren’t even happy with their 6-2 record. The Magic are led by the number one rated prospect in the nation in Evan Mobley, but it doesn’t end there for them. Jaylen Clark, Yassine Gharram and Dalen Terry have also stepped up for this talented team this year. They are going to be tough to beat the rest of the way especially with how much room they have left to grow.
One of the Hoop State’s finest in Garner Road hasn’t disappointed with their play in the first two sessions of the Adidas Gauntlet. Former NBA standout David West has led this team to a 7-1 record against a tough schedule. Garner Road is highlighted by two ACC commits in future North Carolina Tar Heel Day’Ron Sharpe and Virginia Cavalier Carson McCorkle. Sharpe is averaging 16.6 points per game and McCorkle is averaging 16.8 points per game. This lethal duo makes Garner Road one of the toughest teams to beat throughout the Gauntlet.
Exum Elite is known for having a team full of players with a high basketball I.Q. and this year is much of the same. They have taken down tough opponents like Brookwood Elite, NY Jayhawks and more. Dallin Hall, Jace Whiting, Mason Falslev and Jeff Ngandu have all made a name for themselves on the national scale. They now are 7-1 with their only loss coming from the very talented Compton Magic.
The ML20 Enforcers give Garner Road a run for their money on having the best duo in the Adidas Gauntlet with Marjon Beauchamp and Tari Eason. Beauchamp is averaging 17.5 points per game and Eason is averaging 15.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. The Enforcers have run through teams on the Gauntlet this year with not only their offense but on the defensive end as well. They are seven on this list but have a strong argument for being ranked higher.
Team Rose hasn’t disappointed this year and is yet another team where certain players have broken out. The first two that come to mind are Justin Harmon and Ramean Hinton. These two lead the charge on the scoring front but have a strong supporting cast with guys like Damontae Taylor and Darius Buford. Team Rose lands eighth in the top ten with a 7-1 record on the year.
When talking about offense on the Adidas Gauntlet, the Atlanta Celtics have to be one of the first teams you must mention. Players Deivon Smith, Xavier commit Dwon Odom, Caleb Murphy and Toneari Lane are all averaging over double digits in scoring. With prospects like this, the Celtics are capable of beating anyone on the Gauntlet.
One of the programs with the most tradition on the Adidas Gauntlet in MASS Rivals has had a strong showing to start this year. Point guard Kadary Richmond has made some serious noise this year and has attracted multiple schools from across the country. DeMarr Langford has done DeMarr Langford things with his elite athleticism and motor on both ends. This team has a great deal of potential with players like Dallion Johnson and more.
