DALLAS, TX - The Adidas Gauntlet Qualifier is loaded with talented teams and prospects. Here is a breakdown of the athletes that played well on Day 1.
Joshua Cooper | 5'11" 2020 PG | Basketball University
Before this weekend began I had no idea who Joshua Cooper out of Houston, Texas was, but yesterday he made a really good impression on me. Cooper was in attack mode early in often in his first 2 games and he used his quickness to maneuver past opposing players.
KJ Pruitt | 6'4" 2020 CG | Urban DFW
Pruitt is a big guard who can do a lot of things well on the basketball court. Offensively he showed that he can operate on or off the ball depending on where his team needs him. He is a solid a passer and he knows how to make plays off the bounce.
Wade Taylor | 5'11" 2021 PG | Urban DFW
Wade Taylor was in his bag today early and often. Against Sanman Elite, Taylor made shots that only elite level point guards could make. The 2021 point guard is putting himself in the conversation for the Adidas Qualifier Gauntlet Qualifier Dallas all-tournament team.
TOP GAME: YES II SUCCESS VS. RL9
This game was entertaining from the jump and it was evident that both teams wanted to come out victorious. RL9 jumped out on top and was up by double digits to start the 2nd half, but Journee Phillips, Jonathan Ochoa, and, Mike Chandler fought to the finish to propel Yes II Success over RL9.
Journee Phillips | 6'2" 2020 SG | PB Nation Yes II Success
Phillips was the main catalyst in his team's comeback victory over RL9 Elite. Phillips was slashing to the cup violently while still managing to be under control once he exploded to the rim.
Marcus Williams | 6'2" 2020 SG | Team Harden
Whenever Team Harden needed a big bucket Marcus Williams delivered it for them. Against San Antonio Dream Team, Williams hit timely shots from multiple spots on the floor.
