Hoover, Ala. — We have finally arrived to the final four teams in the Adidas Gauntlet Summer Championships; Atlanta Celtics, D1 Minnesota, Garner Road Basketball Club & Team Loaded (VA). With only two games remaining the intensity of Sunday’s games will be at its highest.
D1 Minnesota vs Garner Road Basketball Club set to tip off at 9:15 a.m. at Hoover Metropolitan Complex.
D1 Minnesota beat two tough teams on Saturday first taking down Team Loaded NC lead by 5-star recruit, Josh Hall, but was able to fight them off behind Kerwin Walton’s 30 points. There hasn’t been a more dominant all-around team this weekend like D1 Minnesota and that is largely due to their excellent scoring and multiple threats front to back on their roster. They handled a star-driven Dream Vision team by holding them to just 42 points on 35% shooting. D1 Minnesota has shot the three ball extremely well and outrebounded all of their opponents this weekend but they will face a very tough Garner Road Basketball Club.
Garner Road Basketball Club led by UNC commit, Day’ron Sharpe and UVA commit, Carson McCorkell has been stellar this weekend only losing to the Atlanta Celtics on Thursday. But, Garner Road does a lot of things right on the offensive end, Carson McCorkell and Day’ron Sharpe are a perfect match McCorkell spreads the floor and can open up the lane for Sharpe to crash the boards and operate within. On Saturday, Garner Road handled Wildcats Select limiting them to 47 points and out rebounding them 29-18. On their later game against a tough Mass Rivals team, Sharpe and McCorkell came through combining for 29 of the teams 56 points.
Garner Road will need to clean the glass against D1 Minnesota and get Sharpe and McCorkell going early like they did against Wildcats Select. D1 Minnesota will need to keep the scoring from all cylinders going as they head into the matchup, and if th
