Ladera Ranch, Calif. (CA) — The first day of the Adidas Gauntlet Finale in full action, every team was on edge as every game is a win or go home scenario. Dream Vision took on a scrappy Urban DFW team who won their play-in game earlier in the day led by Wade Taylor IV’s 32 points.

Coming off a tough exit at the Adidas Summer Championships, Dream Vision came out with a chip on their shoulder and Makur Maker led the charge with a full head of steam. The 7’0” center dominated the entire game start from finish and Urban DFW had no answer for the play making center.

Maker handles the ball very well for a player at his size and displayed that by driving from the top of the key into the paint to score multiple times. Maker caused problems in the paint for the shifty guards of Urban DFW by altering a lot of driving layups and forcing the opponent to settle for tough mid-range shots. Maker was strong cleaning the glass, totaling 14 rebounds and creating endless second chance opportunities for Dream Vision on the offensive end. The center had an efficient scoring day on top of being a rebounding magnet, he scored 22 points on 65% shooting and 50% from three point range. Despite playing with other top recruits, Maker stood out by being a force of nature today.

Dream Vision handled Urban DFW 87-65 behind the huge double-double performance by Maker, his 22 points with 14 rebounds was good enough to earn performance of the day at the Adidas Gauntlet Finale for day one.
